Taste of the Town History
Since 1956, St. Andrew Catholic School has provided students in Kindergarten through Eighth grades with an education of academic excellence rooted in faith and love. St. Andrew embraces the community through school-wide service projects, instilling in its students the importance and value of living a life of “service beyond self”.
In 1984, a creative group of parents organized the first Taste of the Town as a fundraiser for St. Andrew Catholic School. The event made its debut hosting about 20 restaurants and gained immediate popularity in the Myrtle Beach community. Over the years, locals and visitors look forward to attending this premier culinary event.
Today, Taste of the Town features many of the Grand Strand’s Finest Restaurants, culinary awards, live entertainment, silent auction, and is poised as one of the most highly anticipated food festivals. Taste of the Town’s growing success is made possible by the generous contributions of local businesses through various levels of sponsorship.
Taste of the Town is the primary annual fundraiser for St. Andrew Catholic School. The event’s proceeds benefit the school’s Capital Improvement Fund for purchase of items such as playground equipment, structural renovations, and new technology.
St. Andrew Catholic School gives back to the community by donating a portion of the proceeds to various local organizations including Help 4 Kids and Catholic Charities.
Taste of the Town is a Non-Profit Organization. Donations are tax-deductible.
