Marc Mulherin serves as General Manager of the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, bringing more than 25 years of hospitality, venue management, and convention center leadership experience to the role. Originally from Massachusetts, Marc earned his degree from Bryant University. The Grand Strand has long held a special place in his heart after years of vacationing in the area with family and friends.

Marc started his hospitality career at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. He later held leadership roles at well-known venues like the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, Los Angeles Convention Center, Santa Clara Convention Center, McCormick Place in Chicago, and Fort Smith Convention Center in Arkansas. He also worked as General Manager of the Branson Convention Center in Missouri.

Most recently, Marc was Vice President of Hospitality for Sporting Kansas City. He managed food and beverage operations at several venues, including Children’s Mercy Park and other sports complexes. His broad experience has helped him understand all aspects of venue operations, guest services, event planning, and how to create memorable experiences for clients and guests.

Now that he is back on the East Coast, Marc is excited to join the Myrtle Beach community and lead the convention center into its next chapter. He looks forward to working with the MBCC team and continuing the center’s tradition of great service and Southern hospitality.

Outside of work, Marc and his wife Stephanie have five sons. Soccer plays a big role in their family, with their boys competing in college, high school, and grade school. Marc and his family are happy to call Myrtle Beach home and look forward to getting involved in the community.
